So far, Amazon, Alibaba, JD.com, V, Walmart continue to dominate the
e-commerce sector all over the world. But in the coming time, it can be
challenged by Instagram. It has one billion users all over the
world. In such a situation, the company is now trying to move forward in
the field of e-commerce. Facebook currently owns this photo and video
sharing app. The emphasis is now on converting it into a sales
portal. Now Instagram is ready to leave the visual aspect of the virtual
space. Instagram has a feature 'Shopable Posts', which allows users to
buy products directly from brands' posts. Recently, Instagram started the
pilot program of Direct Sales. But it was limited to just 20
brands. Payment in this is done with the help of PayPal technology.
Shortly before this, Google has also announced a redesign of its shopping
portal. In this, users are allowed to purchase directly from the site and
are not redirected to the seller's web portal.
