1. Go to Official Website
Most of the companies advertise their jobs on their official website. So instead of relying on the email you get from somewhere, you should go to the company's career page and apply there. If applying on online job portals, make sure that your resume is going to the original website. Regarding foreign jobs, you should take help of government portal or local job consultant of that country. Don't get caught in the trap of any agent in India.
2. Have a Great offer
If an increment of 70 to 80 percent is being given or salary is being given more than your rank or experience or facilities are being provided out of the market trend, then this offer may be fake. Be careful even if the offer letter is being given without any formal interview. Go to the registered office of the company and meet the employer. Be careful if called to a residential area or to a place without company signage.
3. Apply for Clear Position
While preparing the CV and cover letter, clearly mention the job or position. The mail received for the job should be for that particular post only. If the post offered is generic then the job is fake.
4. Call the Landline
If job offer has been received, first call on the registered landline phone of that company and find out whether the person offering job is present in the company or not. Also whether the post is in the company or not.
5. Never Pay
The job portal, employer or company does not ask the candidate for payment at any stage of the hiring process. Do not pay any fees in the name of registration, document verification or security deposit.
