HOW TO SAVE OUR BUSINESS FROM CYBER ATTACKS

71% of small businesses are victims of Cyberattacks. Small businesses should use multi-fact identification to secure their data and network.

It is a common belief that big corporate houses are the victims of cyber attacks, but the US Congressional Business Committee has recently made a shocking revelation.  According to this, 71 percent of small businesses are constantly being affected by cyber attacks.  The main reason for this is that small businesses are not giving much importance to cyber security.  Although 78 percent of young entrepreneurs are those who belong to the IT field but still they do not seem to be very enthusiastic about cyber security.  As a result, the number of small businesses affected by such attacks is increasing rapidly.

1. FIREWALL USE REQUIRED

It acts as a security wall, through which the data packets demanded by the user have to be filtered.  It acts as a link between private and public networks.  Protects the network on both sides and protects our network from unauthorized third party softwares.

2. EMPLOYEE ARE EDUCATED

Whenever a small business becomes a victim of a cyber attack, the biggest reason for it is the lack of knowledge of the employee.  Due to lack of knowledge of cyber security, employees are not able to understand the alerts.  It is very important to give cyber security education to the employee.

3. MULTI-FACTOR IDENTIFICATION

Hackers are doing cyber attacks day by day.  Therefore, small businesses should use multi-fact identification to secure their data and network.  In this system, the process of more than one password identification is used for entry into any network. In MFA, the network is secured using physical, logical and biometrics.  Large IT and financial firms use MFA the most.  Such systems can be accessed with the help of any cyber security expert.  In the small business affected by cyber attack, 60 percent of the businesses are such that they have the same password for a long time.  Therefore there is a need to change not only the password in a regular time but also strong password.

4. CREATE ACCESS CONTROL POLICY

A strong patch management system can also protect your data from being hacked.  Small business should implement strong access control policy.  So that whenever an employee accesses the data, his information is completely with you.

5. GET INFORMATION FROM TIME TO TIME

There is also a need to be in constant touch with cyber security experts.  What should you know about the latest technology to keep data and network secure?  Get a complete check from a cyber security expert once a month and follow up on any suggestions he suggests.

6. DATA BACK-UP IS ALSO NECESSARY

The world's best companies have also become victims of cyber attack.  To protect your data from such attacks, it is important that companies keep a backup of the data.  It also needs to be noted that the data should be backed up offline.  This will not affect the backed up data in any way.
